Our Natural & Non-Invasive Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment (APCRA)

It is important for your own safety and peace of mind to check whether you have prostate cancer and, if so, how dangerous it is.

The standard conventional medical diagnostic for prostate cancer is the prostate biopsy.

However, some individuals may experience discomfort or complications, such as infections, following a prostate biopsy. Consult with your healthcare provider to understand the potential risks and benefits.

It is also generally painful, and in a significant minority of cases, it can leave long-term effects on sexual performance.

It’s important to discuss any concerns about the potential risks of prostate biopsy, including the rare possibility of cancer spread, with your healthcare provider

While rare, there are potential risks associated with prostate biopsy. Consult with your healthcare provider to understand these risks in the context of your specific situation.

Consider exploring alternatives such as the Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment (APCRA), a non-invasive method for assessing prostate cancer risk. Consult with your healthcare provider to determine the most suitable option for you.

Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about our Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment.

What is prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is a malignant disease that can affect any part of the prostate, with a common occurrence in the lateral lobes.

The risk of prostate cancer rises with age. Approximately 6 in 10 cases are diagnosed in males aged 65 and older, with rare occurrences in individuals under 40.

Cancer cells pose a threat as they tend to aggregate, forming tumors. A progressing tumor has the potential to harm normal cells and can damage healthy tissues, including prostate tissue in this case.

Signs and symptoms of Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer may not always exhibit obvious signs until it reaches a size that puts pressure on the urinary tube.

As a result, individuals may experience the following symptoms of prostate cancer.

What is our Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment?

The Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment (APCRA) utilizes non-invasive blood tests and specialized color Doppler scans to assess the presence of prostate cancer.

The variety and sophistication of these new blood tests make APCRA a viable alternative to a prostate biopsy, particularly if you prefer natural or non-invasive diagnostic and treatment approaches.

Following the testing, you will undergo a comprehensive 3-hour consultation with a Naturopathic Physician, also a Professor of Urology. A detailed written report of your results will be provided for discussion during the appointment

As the results of all additional tests won’t be available during your initial visit, your payment includes an additional diagnostic session over the telephone for up to one hour once all results are obtained.”

In summary, you will receive a preliminary diagnosis during your first visit. However, the additional data from the comprehensive tests will provide a more robust and certain basis for the diagnosis.

What testing does the Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment involve?

The APCRA includes the TRUSP, CaP lab panel, PCA-3, TMPRSS2/ERG, and a saliva testosterone/sex hormone panel (total testosterone, free testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, pregnenolone, dihydrotestosterone).”

The lab panel includes PSA, FREE PSA, PAP, CRP, complete blood count, and comprehensive metabolic panel.

You will undergo a scan using a four-dimensional Power Color Doppler Ultrasound. This advanced generation of Power Color Doppler Ultrasound is adept at fine detection, particularly in the hands of an expert.

The 4KScore test is available as an optional add-on at an additional cost.

3 hour consultation with a Naturopathic Physician/Professor of Urology

The APCRA includes a comprehensive 3-hour consultation with a Naturopathic Physician who is also a Professor of Urology.

He will walk you through the results of his assessment and explain every aspect and option available to you while also answering any questions you may have.  Your consultation will be like an educational mini-seminar about the real issues facing you as a patient.

Overall, he will help you understand how the system is managing you and what to ask your doctor to maximize your own goals.

These goals may include avoiding a biopsy, when to determine if conventional treatments are ever warranted, and how to discuss your choice of refusing an unnecessary biopsy or surgery with a concerned family member.

In most cases, the physician can provide information on the presence of a tumor, whether it extends beyond the prostate envelope, its potential danger, and can also confirm the presence of BPH or prostatitis

A comprehensive, written report of your results

Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed report of your results to be discussed in your 3-hour consultation. This report is crucial as it establishes a detailed baseline for making judgments in subsequent years and gauging the effectiveness of your therapies.

You have the option to share this report with your own doctor. Additionally, it serves as valuable baseline data for analysis if you decide to have your prostate monitored or diagnosed elsewhere.

Most importantly, it enables you to postpone a biopsy, potentially rendering a prostate biopsy unnecessary.

Benefits of our Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment

When patients usually visit a doctor they expect scans and tests but very little interaction with the actual doctor. The APCRA, however, is very different.

A significant advantage of APCRA is the receipt of a detailed report for discussion in the 3-hour consultation with a naturopathic physician and Professor of Urology as your consultant. And he, more than any other urologist, doctor, or surgeon, can tell you about your risk of prostate cancer and the options for treatment.

Unlike many urologists who may favor specific treatments, your consultant does not personally provide treatment. Specializing in offering second opinions about prostate cancer, he holds no agenda and is free to provide honest, independent advice.

That consultation alone makes our APCRA the best option you could choose to have. The professor of urology attending you will try and help with any information you need to make your decision. But he will not attempt to sway you one way or the other. This is a decision only you can make.

The tests and scans that you will have will enable your consulting urologist to explain your current level of danger. He will answer every question that you have to help you arrive at your own conclusion.

Apart from that, the greatest additional benefits are that it is non-invasive, does no damage, and doesn’t close off any avenues for future treatment.

Informed judgments about treatment options, the choice of treatment, and monitoring the results become possible only when you have a clear understanding of what is happening inside your prostate.

Where is the clinic located?

If you decide to have an APCRA, you will receive a specialized scan, examination, and a whole battery of tests.

After this testing, you will receive a thorough, 3-hour consultation from a Naturopathic Physician who is also a Professor of Urology and a very detailed, written report with your results to be discussed during the appointment, as well as a follow-up telephone call with the doctor and a further personal telephone consultation with our support team. We will be able to discuss your options and the pros and cons of various treatments, should your results indicate them.

Keep in mind that the APCRA is not accepted as a definitive prostate cancer diagnosis and, for that reason, will not be paid for by health insurance.
