There are two distinct causes of prostatitis. Prostatitis as a further complication from BPH tends to appear in men over the age of 50, although increasingly it can be found in men as young as 40. It is generally caused by an infection in the bladder which cannot be emptied properly as a result of BPH. A constant pool of stale urine in the bladder is a great breeding ground for recurring infections. The infection travels down the Urethra to the tip of the penis.

In a younger man, prostatitis is generally caused by an autoimmune response as a consequence of a long-standing chronic infection, one that has never been completely cleared or one that constantly recurs because the immune system is compromised. Ironically the only medical treatment is a course of antibiotics and that generally lowers the immune response. In many cases, young men can connect the onset of prostatitis to an STD. In other cases, it can be from an undiagnosed and untreated low-level STD or other causes of infection.

Prostatitis Causes

If prostatitis is not properly treated it will become chronic and very difficult to eradicate. The longer you suffer from Prostatitis, the harder it becomes to cure it. It is not uncommon for some men to have experienced prostatitis for many years and to have tried everything to eradicate it without success. I have seen patients who have suffered consistently for as much as 20 years.

Since there is no medical treatment that works, there is no real contest. The best treatment is the natural one which is similar to the treatment given for BPH or an enlarged prostate. In fact prostatitis in most cases is really an extreme form of BPH where the initial disease has been neglected or not been adequately treated.

The natural holistic treatment is a combination of changes to diet and lifestyle combined with a significant number of natural supplements, more than in the case of simple BPH.

Where prostatitis is suffered by a younger man as a consequence of an immune problem, additional supplements need to be taken to strengthen the immune response.

Although prostatitis will normally take longer to treat than BPH, the form that has suffered by an older man can generally be significantly improved or even cleared up within a few months whereas the form that is suffered by a young man can take a year or more to clear.
The only conventional medical treatment for prostatitis is antibiotics. Quite often these do not succeed since the infections are as often as not, caused by viruses or very nonspecific bacteria. Even when they do help to some extent initially, prostatitis will tend to come back and become chronic since the underlying disease is not being addressed by prescribing antibiotics. READ MORE

Chronic Prostatitis
The most common symptom of prostatitis is pain when urinating; often described as being like peeing razor blades. Other common symptoms are a general feeling of discomfort in the groin and pain in the testicles. Prostatitis can be extremely debilitating, preventing men from having adequate sex, working, or doing any physical exercises. This is especially the case when prostatitis has become chronic. It really is most important for a man to try and deal with prostatitis as soon as possible and not neglect it seems chronic prostatitis is very hard and sometimes impossible to cure.

If you are finding it difficult to cure your prostatitis, please ask me a question detailing your specific circumstances and I will endeavour to help you.

6/7 cases of prostate cancer will never become life-threatening and therefore do not need invasive treatments which
(despite all the claims by Doctors) have been shown by many studies not to increase life expectancy.
At the same time, these invasive procedures that often follow after a positive biopsy have the potential to cause significant damage to your quality-of-life.
Learn about the Advanced Prostate Cancer Risk Assessment and save yourself from the heartache of invasive treatments.
